Jacob Comer has joined Seward & Kissel LLP as a partner in its investment management practice. Comer previously served as general counsel for Novaquest Capital Management, a life sciences investment firm. Comer’s addition underscores Seward & Kissel’s commitment to enhancing its venture capital practice.

Comer spent nearly a decade in the investment management group of a large international law firm before joining Novaquest Capital Management, where he served on the executive committee overseeing all legal matters. “I’m excited to join Seward & Kissel and help grow a dedicated venture capital practice that builds on the Firm’s market-leading private funds practice,” said Comer. “With a client base that includes over a third of the top 50 private equity and private debt firms, Seward & Kissel offers an exceptional foundation to expand the Firm’s capabilities in venture capital formation and transactions.”
Comer received his J.D. from the Washington and Lee University School of Law and his B.B.A. from Marshall University.
